Aeroinformatics is a research group built by Chang Ren at the College of Air Traffic Management of the Civil Aviation Flight University of China. The aim is to conduct interdisciplinary research and innovation that combines his own academic background (geographical information science, GIScience) and the teaching and research focus of his affiliation (air transportation); to provide research skill training and internship opportunity for undergrads; and to explore the application of geospatial technology in the instruction of air transportation and traffic majors.
航空信息研究小组是任畅在飞行学院空管学院组建的一个研究小组，目的是结合自身学科背景(地理信息科学)与所在单位教学科研实际(航空交通)进行学科交叉的研究与创新，指导本科生进行科研技能实践训练，探讨地理信息技术在航空交通运输专业教学中的应用。
This group currently has faculty member and undergrad students, which can be considered as a research group, or a lab, or a team, in the context of postgraduate educaton. It is not associated with any specific research project, workplace, or entities. Students who are interested in and have time for research on the topic of aeroinformatics or software tool development are welcome to join us. The benefits and costs of undergraduate research internship will be discussed in a future post. Researchers and enthusiasts in either geographic information or air transportation are also welcome for potential collaboration or academic exchange.
本小组目前由教师和本科生组成，其性质可以理解为研究生教育语境下的课题组、实验室、团队，但因实际条件并不与特定的研究项目和工作场所等实体挂钩。欢迎有兴趣和时间参与航空信息方向研究或开发的学生加入。本科生从事科研实践的好处和坏处见文章。欢迎地理信息和航空交通领域的研究者和爱好者合作交流。
